Our part-time degree in osteopathy attracts people with a variety of backgrounds and skills. We are really interested in gathering the stories behind the osteopaths who have qualified so far. Would you like to contribute? Would you like to tell your story?
Osteopathy is still a small profession with just over 5,000 registered practitioners. What made YOU want to become an osteopath? What did you think you could do for people that other health professionals couldn’t? Who or what was your inspiration to study? How has it changed your life? How do you think you help others?
These stories are inspirational for our current students and patients and, help people to understand what is unique about osteopathy. There is no simple and quick answer to “What is an osteopath?” or “What does an osteopath do?” but we think that osteopath’s telling their own stories helps people understand more about the people in our profession and what they can help with.
If you are interested in writing about your own journey into Osteopathy we really want to hear from you. We have created a simple template that you can use or feel free to write your own piece.
If you use the template, put as much information as you like to each question and then we can edit and get it back to you for approval. Don’t forget to send us images of you and your practice to go with the piece. We can’t wait to hear how you are getting on and what has happened since you qualified.
Lastly, if you have not already done so don’t forget to add your practice to our ‘Find an Osteopath’ page – you can do so by completing your details here: website practice form.
