COLLEGE WELCOMES LATECOMERS

The new academic year is underway, but we have a few places remaining for immediate enrolment, or you can join us in the New Year.

The innovative January-start programme means that anyone who missed the boat in September can still apply to come onboard in January 2012.  Then next September it will be possible to continue your studies with the second year students at either Staffordshire or Middlesex University - whichever is most convenient for you.

In addition there is a fast-track programme starting in January for any applicants who are already healthcare professionals such as doctors, chiropractors or physiotherapists.  With advanced entry it is possible to complete the osteopathy programme in three years part-time instead of the usual five.

The College of Osteopaths also welcomes people who are latecomers to osteopathy as a profession. “We specialise in working with mature learners who have to juggle with other commitments such as jobs and families” explains Pat Hamilton, Principal of the College.  “Some of our students have not sat an exam for many years, but they still have the potential to become excellent osteopaths.  Others are re-training, and bring considerable skills and qualifications from their previous career.”

So if you have let the start of term pass you by, or if you have delayed over that long-promised change of career, do download an information pack and submit your application now for a place in January 2012.  The email address is: osteopathy@staffs.ac.uk for all late or January enquiries and for courses in London or Stoke-on-Trent.
