Vacancies at the College
The College of Osteopaths in collaboration with Staffordshire University
Administrative Assistant
Starting salary: around £15-16,000 pro-rata depending on skills and qualities
A part-time Administrative Assistant is sought for the Osteopathy Programme based on the Leek Road campus (Stoke-on-Trent) of Staffordshire University. The post requires 12-16 hours spread over 2 or 3 weekdays, with some flexibility. Occasional Saturdays may be involved, or could be a regular feature if mutually advantageous.
The Osteopathy Programme offers Masters and Bachelors degrees in osteopathy for mature learners wishing to train part-time, often whilst maintaining a full-time job during the week. The programme is a collaborative provision, delivered by the College of Osteopaths and validated by Staffordshire University. The post involves liaison with students, tutors, colleagues of the College and the University, and an appreciation of university procedures.
You will be enthusiastic about part-time professional training and higher education, and you will act as an ambassador for the programme and the profession. However, the Administrative Assistant post does not require any experience of working within a clinical or university setting. The employer, the College of Osteopaths, is a small independent charity. Within a lean infrastructure we offer a very friendly and supportive ethos, considerable flexibility for staff, and the opportunity to develop your skills and show initiative.
As well as excellent interpersonal skills and a well organised approach, you will need a successful track record in administrative work, and particularly a high level of competence with ICT such as Blackboard, Skype, and all applications within MS Office together with email and internet.
